The Roundtable registration fee is US$195/R1170 for delegates and US$130/R780 for travel companions. The fee includes the Opening Reception, the 2-day meeting with mid-morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch, and a Cocktail Function on Wednesday night. Delegates are free to make their own dinner plans on Wednesday night. We invite everyone to attend the Roundtable Banquet (6/4/2000) at the Hotel Le Vendome for an additional cost of US$40/R240.

Please send the registration fee in full by 15 March 2000. After this date, the fee is US$245/R1470 for delegates and US$175/R1050 for travel companions.

Registration fee does NOT include hotel accommodations.

Travel companions are welcome to all social functions (additional charge for the Thursday Roundtable Banquet) during the Roundtable, and are invited on a sightseeing excursion on the first day and a shopping excursion on the second day.

  

  Posters on scientific research, industrial applications, and commercialization projects on natural plant products in Africa and other developing countries are welcome. Posters will be on display during the entire conference. If you wish to present a poster, please indicate as such on the registration form or in a separate letter or e-mail to: simon@hort.purdue.edu. Please provide a title and an abstract (100 words or less) for each poster. Poster exhibitors will be provided with electrical power and posterboards A0 size (1180mm width x 835mm height, connectable panels, using velcro to mount).

  

 

A Program and Abstract booklet will be available to each delegate with registration. If you wish to make a poster presentation or exhibit please forward a short description or abstract by 15 March 2000 for inclusion in the booklet.

A Proceedings book will be compiled after the meeting and will include the presentations and highlights of the discussions, a list of posters/exhibits and a contact list of delegates. Participants who will be presenting papers or posters should submit their manuscripts during registration on 4 April 2000.

  

 

The five-star Hotel Le Vendome offers world-class business and leisure facilities and services as well as excellent rates to delegates attending the Roundtable. Limited reservations are available from 4 April until departure at a special rate of US$105/R630 per room per night, including breakfast. Participants arriving earlier can be accommodated in surrounding hotels and shuttled to the Hotel Le Vendome on 4 April. An accommodation deposit of US$105/R630 as required by the hotel, is due by 3 March 2000 to secure your reservation. (Utilize same form as for Roundtable registration, but please note the return date for accommodation is 3/3/2000.)

Balance of account is payable on arrival directly to the hotel. Delegates will be responsible to settle their outstanding accounts on incidentals prior to departure. Early departures will not be refunded. The release date for this special rate will be 3 March, after which reservations will be accepted on a space available basis and subject to full-published rates. The Hotel Le Vendome can only guarantee rooms with a deposit or advance full payment during this peak tourist season. Rooms are classically furnished with two beds, a fax machine, modem points, a safe for your valuables, refreshment center, and 24-hour room service.

Alternative accommodation at three-star and four-star hotels can be arranged on request in rate categories as indicated on the registration form. Deposit of US$105/R630 and full payment directly on arrival to hotel, is also applicable for these bookings. Although these hotels are in close proximity to the Hotel Le Vendome, they will not be within walking distance. A shuttle service will be arranged to and from the hotel in the morning and afternoon for Roundtable sessions.
