American Dietetic Association -

AJCN - American Journal of Clinical Nutrition Online -

American Nutraceutical Association -

The American Nutraceutical Association was established in 1997 by members of the health care delivery system, in cooperation with consumers and nutraceutical manufacturers, to develop and provide educational materials and continuing education programs for health care professionals and consumers on nutraceutical technology and science.

Codex Alimentarius -

Data system which provides information on food standards for pesticides, commodities, and pesticide/commodity combinations. Topics covered include: Pesticide residues in food; Residues of veterinary drugs in foods; Foods for special dietary uses, including food for infants and children; Processed and quick frozen fruits and vegetables; Tropical fresh fruits and vegetables; Fruit juices and related products; Cereals, pulses, legumes, and derived products and vegetable proteins; Fats, oils, and related products; Meat and meat products, including soups and broths; Sugars, cocoa products, and chocolate and miscellaneous products; and Methods of analysis and sampling.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) -

The Council for Responsible Nutrition is dedicated to helping to reduce health care costs and enhancing the public's health through good nutrition, including the appropriate use of dietary supplements. To fulfill this mission, CRN supports a science-based environment for the responsible marketing of dietary supplement products and provides its member companies with legislative guidance, regulatory interpretation, scientific information on supplement benefits and safety issues, and communications expertise.

Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) -

The Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) is located at the National Agricultural Library (NAL), part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Agricultural Research Service (ARS). FNIC is supported in part by a Cooperative Agreement with the University of Maryland's Department of Nutrition and Food Science in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals -Food Bureau Market and Industry Services Branch - Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada -

The Food Bureau uses its sectoral and industry knowledge and expertise in support of MISB's three lines of business, namely Market Access, Market Development and Investment to address the adequacy of supply to meet prospective demand by:
providing federal government leadership to resolve barriers to growth in the food and beverage processing and distribution sectors and to address supply constraints;
assisting the industry in increasing its competitive ability;
encouraging investment in the sector;
raising awareness of sector issues within government;
providing primary liaison and service-delivery responsibilities with multinational, national enterprises and national associations in the sector;
providing industry analysis and information services to the sector; and
promoting mutual understanding within the food supply chain.
The preceding is achieved by working in partnership with regional offices and other departmental responsibility centres.

Functional Foods for Health -

Functional Foods for Health, a joint program of the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is dedicated to the improvement of human health through multi-disciplinary research, education, and communication focused on the identification of safe and efficacious foods and other physiologically active natural products which may reduce chronic disease risk or promote optimal health.

IFIC¹s purpose is to bridge the gap between science and communications by collecting and disseminating scientific information on food safety, nutrition and health and by working with an extensive roster of scientific experts to help translate research into understandable and useful information for opinion leaders and ultimately, consumers. These groups find the IFIC reservoir of science and health data a valuable and easily accessed resource. -

National Center For Food Safety and Technology (NCFST) -

The National Center For Food Safety and Technology (NCFST) is a unique research consortium composed of scientists from academia, the Food and Drug Administration, and food related industries. The NCFST provides a neutral ground where industry, academia and government scientists can pool their scientific expertise and institutional perspectives to address food safety issues in a proactive and creative manner. The program at the NCFST consists of two components, research and outreach, with governance and policy determined by anOversight Advisory Committee composed of FDA, academic and industry members.

NNFA - National Nutritional Foods Association -

The National Nutritional Foods Association, founded in 1936, represents the interests of some 3,000 retailers and 1,000 manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of health foods, dietary supplements, natural ingredient cosmetics and other natural products. The NNFA is the heart of a growing, vital industry committed to health, well-being, and a sustainable environment. NNFA promotes and protects the unique values and shared interests of retailers, and suppliers in the natural nutritional foods and products industry.

Nutrient Data Laboratory (NDL) -

The Nutrient Data Laboratory (NDL) is one of seven units in the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center (BHNRC) of the Agricultural Research Service (ARS). NDL and its predecessor organizations in USDA have been compiling and developing food composition databases for over a century. NDL has an interdisciplinary staff composed of nutritionists, dietitians, food technologists, and computer specialists.

SCEIFF-The Swedish Center of Excellence and Innovation in Functional Foods -

This website is Sweden's leading on-line functional foods community for researchers in industry and Academia, consumers organizations, authorities, politicians and venture capital enterprises, providing online access to scientific databases, news alerts and other information services to 800 registered users.
