Stevia to be sold under trade name "Sweetherb."

VitaWarehouse.com Inc. has received permission to use "Sweetherb" as its registered trademark name for Stevia rebaundiana extract. Two hundred or more times as sweet as sugar, the extract will be marketed as a natural alternative to artificial sweeteners. Stevia is reported to level diabetics' blood sugar, retard the growth of oral plaque, and act as an anti-carcinogen. The FDA classifies it as a dietary supplement. Business Wire, May 15, 2000.
