HRF International Symposium Planned for Expo
West 2002 The Herb Research Foundation (HRF) is pleased to announce an
exciting educational opportunity for international botanical entrepreneurs.
"International Intensive: A Short Course on the US Natural
Products Industry" will be co-sponsored by HRF and New Hope
Natural Media and dovetails with the Natural Products Expo West
2002 industry trade show taking place March 7-10, 2002 in Anaheim,
CA. HRF's international intensive is custom-designed for international
visitors striving to succeed in the US botanicals market. The
five-day program will give participants a solid introduction to
the US industry, improve their marketing savvy, and pave the way
for more and better trade relations between international suppliers
and the US marketplace. The curriculum consists of private lectures
and workshops, selected Expo seminars, field trips and tours,
networking events, and other assistance to help newcomers get
the most from Expo West. While the program focuses on international delegates, it is open
to all interested industry members. "Any natural products
entrepreneur who wants to enter the US market can benefit from
this program," said HRF President Rob McCaleb. "Since
a large amount of botanical raw material comes from outside the
US, and many traditional products are unknown in the US, we want
to facilitate trade between the best producers and the best buyers
for the benefit of all concerned." A similar program conducted
by HRF at Expo East 1998 in Baltimore was well received by US
industry members and international delegates from nine different
nations. Tuition for the program will include Expo registration fees,
tours, selected meals, and symposium events. For more information,
