FDA Office of Food Labeling and Office of Special Nutritionals merge

.The new organization, known as the Office of Nutritional Products, Labeling, and Dietary Supplements (ONPLDS), will maximize the resources of the two offices, improving the way FDA performs related functions such as health claims and overlapping labeling issues. Dr. Christine Lewis will serve as Acting Director of the office. The effective date of the merger is January 31, 2000.
