FDA rules that product labels may carry choline
nutrient claim
Based on the ruling, foods that contain more than 110 mg of choline
per serving can be labeled an "excellent source of choline,"
and products containing over 55 mg can be labeled as a "good
source" of choline. Choline is an essential nutrient known
to prevent fat accumulation in the liver, metabolize fat and cholesterol,
provide structure to cell membranes, facilitate cell-to-cell communication,
and manufacture neurotransmitters. Justfood.com, September
