A recent antioxidant
conference held at Tufts University presented new research on carotenoids,
as well as the most thorough US scientific review of polyphenols to date.
The conference was organized by the New England Free Radical/Oxygen Society
(NEFROS) and featured presentations by top international scientists specializing
in the field of antioxidant therapies. One of the speakers presented new
information on polyphenols derived from grape seed extract, showing that
they increased antioxidant production in clinical studies. Another study
found that grape seed extract lowered the incidence of aortic lesions
associated with coronary artery disease in laboratory animals. Dr. Ahmad
Nihal, from Case Western Reserve University, presented the latest US research
showing that green tea polyphenols can kill cancer cells and reverse cancer
cell growth. Indena®, the conference sponsor, is the maker of LeucoSelect™
Phytosome, a patented grape seed extract product. |
